Trust Business Manager

(Grade 13, point 40 £39,903 to £44,082, full time, and permanent)

The Trust is looking for an outstanding Trust Business Manager who can deliver high quality financial and administrative expertise to some of our schools in South Leicestershire.  The successful candidate will work in a flexible, innovative team supporting Head Teachers and the Trust Leadership Team.

Learn Academies Trust is a growing Multi Academy Trust based in Market Harborough and currently comprises 10 primary schools.

We require a team player with a keen sense of moral purpose and integrity, the post holder will be helping to secure a thriving future for Learn-AT academies, in which all pupils and staff can flourish.

The main responsibilities of the role will be as follows:

  • To work with a number of schools as their Business Manager taking initiative and responsibility for the strategic and day to day operational needs of the schools
  • Ensure robust budgetary control arrangements are in place at schools including the monitoring of income and expenditure and initiating corrective action where appropriate
  • Support the Heads, Director of Finance and Operations and Local Governing Bodies in the preparation of budgets and regular forecasts in line with School Development Plans
  • To work closely with the Director of Finance and Operations to improve the efficiency of financial and administrative systems and procedures and ensure compliance with Trust Policies

An exciting opportunity has arisen at a school that has recently converted to academy status and joined Learn Academies Trust (a multi academy trust). Blaby Stokes is a primary school of 400 pupils that is going through some exciting changes and we are looking for an exceptional individual
to fulfil the role of Office Manager.

The post holder will be required to support the senior leadership team in its aims and objectives by leading and effectively managing the school office staff, ensuring the school administration and office is effective and efficient. This is a varied role which will include pupil and HR administration as well as some financial processing.

It will also include the collation and circulation of information to parents and other stakeholders. Working in a busy environment it is essential that you are strong in interpersonal skills, communication and organisation. There will be a need to deal professionally with all of the schools stakeholders, including pupils, visitors, school governors and parents. We require the following skills and experience:


  • Excellent communication skills
  • Line management experience
  • Experience of in working in an academy or school
  • Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Strong time management and organisational skills

  • Maths and English GCSE level

You will need to be friendly, approachable and have high professional standards, with a willingness
to show initiative in order to improve practices. Flexibility and a good sense of humour are
essential to this role as is being a good team player.
